Job summary

Sobeys in Halifax, NS is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our national pharmacy team. You will handle prescription assembly, data entry, and customer transactions while delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on processing refills, compounding, pill pack assembly, and assisting with daily operations, inventory, and quality standards. Previous pharmacy experience is an asset, with an undergraduate degree or Pharmacy Technology certificate

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree; Pharmacy Technology Certificate or other recognized program.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prescription assembly - data entry.
  • Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
  • Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
  • Promote PROfile programs.
  • Compounding.
  • Pill Pack Assembly.
  • Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
  • Drug order creation and receiving.
  • Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.).
  • BTC management.
  • Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties.
  • Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
  • Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.
