Job summary

Lawtons Spryfield in Halifax is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our national pharmacy team. You will process prescriptions, handle in-person and telephone refill requests, assemble pill packs, file prescriptions, and manage drug orders.

You will also schedule clinical services, perform BTC management, and assist with administrative duties to ensure accurate, efficient pharmacy operations. A Pharmacy Assistant Diploma is preferred and prior pharmacy experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma required or equivalent.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Adherence to company standards and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions and prescriptions accurately.
• Receive and record in-person and telephone refill requests.
• Prepare Pill Pack assemblies and filing of prescriptions.
• Manage stock, ordering, and receiving of drug orders.
• Support schedule for clinical services and health risk assessments.
• Handle administrative duties like counts and returns to stock.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
