Job summary

Lawtons in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our continuing care team. The role focuses on accurate prescription data entry, assembly for nursing homes, and close collaboration with nursing staff to ensure timely deliveries.

You will work with Catalyst, Point Click Care, PacMed, PacVision and PacRoll, supporting pharmacy operations and automation while upholding company standards and patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi‑task.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prescription data entry, assembly, and preparation for delivery to nursing homes.
• Working with prescription software including Catalyst and Point Click Care.
• Learning and implementing processes for accurate automation in pharmacy operations.
• Working with pharmacy automation such as PacMed, PacVision and PacRoll.
• Receiving telephone refill requests and questions from nursing home staff.
• Ordering and replenishing supplies; drug order creation and receiving.
• Administrative duties: cycle counts and narcotic counts; return to stocks.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards; assist with other pharmacy operations as required.

PA Job Duties for Continuing Care:

• Prescription data entry, assembly, and preparation for delivery to nursing homes
• Working with various electronic medication administration software, including Catalyst and Point Click Care
• Learning and being familiar with the necessary process needed for accurate automation
• Working with pharmacy automation including PacMed, PacVision and PacRoll software
• Receiving telephone refill requests and questions from nursing home staff
• Ordering and replenishing supplies
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post‑secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi‑task and work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
