Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable Pharmacy Assistant to join our continuing care team in Nova Scotia. You will help ensure patient-centered care for residents, support pharmacy operations, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll use Catalyst and Point Click Care, participate in automation processes, and contribute to overall pharmacy operations while providing excellent service to nursing home teams and patients.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Ability to work accurately in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prescription data entry, assembly and preparation for delivery to nursing homes.
• Work with Catalyst and Point Click Care software.
• Operate and learn pharmacy automation (PacMed/PacVision/PacRoll).
• Handle telephone refill requests from nursing home staff.
• Order and replenish supplies; create and receive drug orders.
• Perform administrative duties including cycle and narcotic counts.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

PA Job Duties for Continuing Care:

• Prescription data entry, assembly, and preparation for delivery to nursing homes
• Working with various electronic medication administration software, including Catalyst and Point Click Care
• Learning and being familiar with the necessary process needed for accurate automation
• Working with pharmacy automation including PacMed, PacVision and PacRoll software
• Receiving telephone refill requests and questions from nursing home staff
• Ordering and replenishing supplies
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
