Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to support our national pharmacy team across banners, including Lawtons Drugs and Safeway. You will process prescriptions, handle refill requests, and assist with daily pharmacy operations.

The ideal candidate has a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Prior pharmacy experience is an asset, and we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma required or equivalent.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing prescriptions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions (prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests
• Pill Pack Assembly and filing prescriptions
• Order and replenish supplies
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g. medication reviews)
• BTC management
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, returns to stock
• Adhere to company standards and assist with other operations as required

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
