Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Canadian pharmacy team. The role supports prescription assembly, data entry, and patient-centered service across Sobeys banners.

You will handle in-store and phone refill requests, promote loyalty programs, and assist with compounding and routine pharmacy operations. Ideal candidates have a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma and attention to detail, with prior pharmacy experience viewed as an asset.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy assistant diploma required.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Able to follow company standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Handle in-person and telephone refill requests and deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding and Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions and stocking supplies.
• Schedule clinical services (medication reviews, risk assessments).
• Administrative duties including counts and returns to stock.

Here’s Where You’ll Have An Impact

• Prescription assembly – data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What You Bring To The Table

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
