SUMMARY:

To assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, support pharmacy services, and participate in the maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice. Provide superior, timely, and pleasant service to customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Customer Service: Greet customers promptly, gather prescription information, and refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Perform duties according to assigned roles and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Locate and cash out prescriptions and ancillary items, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.

Administration:

• Handle prescription orders, including processing and submitting orders, excluding controlled drugs and narcotics.
• Manage third-party billing and handle incoming calls and faxes in accordance with standards.

Prescription Workflow:

• Assist in prescription preparation, data entry, and managing refill requests.
• Select, count, measure, package, and label prescriptions following pharmacy standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma; Pharmacy Assistant credited course preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Effective organizational skills, ability to multitask, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
