About the Role

Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty, and convenience services in your community, keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do.

Why this role is important?

Summary:

Assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, support pharmacy services, and participate in the maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice. Provide superior, timely, and pleasant service to customers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet customers promptly, gather prescription information, refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist, set realistic wait time expectations, locate and cash out prescriptions and ancillary items, refer customers needing counseling to the pharmacist, maintain cash register, and adhere to confidentiality and privacy requirements.
• Administration: Receive and process new and repeat prescriptions, prepare and submit orders (excluding controlled drugs), adjudicate third-party billing, answer calls, manage incoming faxes, assist with call backs, and file documentation accurately.
• Prescription Workflow: Assist in prescription preparation, data entry, medication selection, counting, packaging, labeling, and data maintenance within pharmacy systems.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Pharmacy Assistant credited course preferred
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred
• Effective organizational and multitasking skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
