Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant for our Flin Flon, Manitoba location. You will support pharmacists and technicians, assist customers, enter prescriptions, and help with inventory and daily operations to deliver patient-focused care.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; training provided as part of our team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in a team setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes occasionally.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Count, measure, and package medications accurately.
• Receive, stock, and audit medication and supply shipments.
• Keep the pharmacy clean and dispose of expired medications safely.

• Assist with daily pharmacy operations as needed.

Job description

Pharmasave #471 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care


• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner


• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician


• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols


• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits


• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations


• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers


• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.


• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry.


• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers


• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (Full-time).


• The regular schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


• 8-hour shift


• Monday to Friday


• Weekend as needed.
