Mental Health & Addictions Pharmacy Assistant

Courtenay, BC | $20 - $25 per hour (Based on experience)

North Island Pharmacy in Courtenay is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to support our Mental Health & Addictions program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, compassionate setting, supporting individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders.

What You’ll Do

• Medication Management – Assist in processing and dispensing prescriptions for methadone, Suboxone, and Kadian, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Client Support & Advocacy – Provide empathetic, confidential, and non-judgmental service to individuals receiving medication-assisted treatment.
• Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all documentation and processes align with provincial and federal regulations related to addiction treatment medications.
• Pharmacy Operations – Support the team with data entry, prescription preparation, inventory management, and workflow optimization.
• Collaboration & Teamwork – Work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and support staff to provide a seamless and compassionate experience for clients.
• Confidentiality & Ethics – Uphold the highest standards of privacy, professionalism, and respect in all client interactions.
  
  

What You Bring

• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (preferably in a mental health & addictions setting).
• Experience with pharmacy management software (Kroll experience preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a high-volume setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when supporting vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of mental health & addictions pharmacy regulations and best practices.
