Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Manager to oversee daily pharmacy operations on duty, provide consultations to customers and health care providers, and deliver full-scope professional services.

You will ensure accuracy of prescriptions, manage workflow and inventory, train staff, and uphold privacy and regulatory standards, while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the local community.

• Complete mandatory training and voluntary continuing education workshops, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy.
• Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements.
• Ensure privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
• Provide counselling on prescriptions and products.
• Practice to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services.
• Be clearly identifiable to the public.
• Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed.
• Communicate with other health care professionals within the circle of care to provide customer care.
• Maintain all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy.
• Control access to the dispensary and manage inventory and patient confidentiality.
• Review and maintain Workflow Queues daily and regular stock reviews.
• Oversight of stock levels and medication orders from wholesaler.
• Meet documentation requirements for controlled substances and reporting.
