Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited operates Shoppers Drug Mart stores and seeks a Pharmacy Leader to manage on-duty pharmacy operations, provide counselling to customers and health professionals, dispense medications and maintain dispensary standards.

You will ensure privacy, regulatory compliance, accurate prescriptions, and collaboration with the healthcare circle while maintaining records and stock control. This role supports enterprise programs and customer care in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems a definite asset.
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed to provide a healthy and safe work environment.
• Complete mandatory training and voluntary continuing education workshops, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy.
• Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements.
• Ensure privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
• Provide counselling on prescriptions and products.
• Practice to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services.
• Be clearly identifiable to the public.
• Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed.
• Communicate with other health care professionals to provide customer care.
• Maintain records per legislation, standards of practice, and policy.
• Control access to the dispensary and review workflow queues daily.
• Review stock; identify expired inventory and oversee orders from wholesaler.
• Document and report substances per Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Health Canada.
