As a Pharmacist at Metro, you’ll provide direct patient care and support the Pharmacy Manager in managing the dispensary and front shop. Your role will be crucial in achieving our company goals and objectives, including delivering exceptional customer-focused patient care, enhancing pharmacy services, and maintaining high store standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform all professional activities of dispensing, patient counseling, and pharmacy services.
  • Fulfill dispensary orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate within the expanded scope of pharmacy practice.
  • Provide pharmacy services aligned with company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for patient care.
  • Supervise the pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and assume responsibilities during short-term absences.
  • Ensure the pharmacy opens and closes on time.
  • Maintain compliance with the Company Recall Procedure.
  • Manage shrink and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Assist with scheduling relief pharmacist coverage and address staffing concerns.
  • Support dispensary paperwork and inventory management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues.
  • Stay informed about local competition and business opportunities.
  • Maintain store standards and conditions.
  • Operate cash registers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Sc.Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program).
  • Licensure: Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Certification: Injection, Smoking Cessation, registered with Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Proficiency with PC systems, MS Office, and pharmacy software (Kroll).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for positive relationships.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Organizational skills for prioritizing and punctuality.
  • Customer service skills for satisfaction and needs recognition.
  • Receptivity to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Initiative and independence in task completion.

Key Relationships:

You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Operations Manager, guide Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacist Assistants, and Clerks, and interact with internal teams and external vendors like McMahon and Kroll Canada.

The role's responsibilities and relationships may evolve to meet Metro’s business needs.
