About The Role

As a Clinical Pharmacist at Metro’s Pharmacy Health Clinic, you will provide patient-centered care in a retail setting, offering prescribing services, medication therapy management, and clinical consultations to improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and prescribe for minor ailments (e.g., skin conditions, infections, allergies).
  • Conduct medication reviews and optimize drug therapy for chronic conditions.
  • Perform A1C and cholesterol testing to support diabetes and heart health management.
  • Administer vaccinations (COVID-19, flu, travel vaccines).
  • Provide travel health consultations and prescribe preventative medications.
  • Prescribe and dispense oral antiviral treatments (e.g., Paxlovid).
  • Educate patients on lifestyle changes and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and inquiries.
  • Stay updated on new clinical guidelines and pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education – B.Sc.Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program).
  • Licensure – Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Injection certified, Smoking Cessation certified and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in primary care and chronic disease management.
  • Ability to work independently and make evidence-based prescribing decisions.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Proficient with current PC systems, MS Office programs and pharmacy software (Kroll)
  • Interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships and positive work environment
  • Language skills to communicate clearly and listen carefully in a respectful manner.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize, plan ahead, manage time and be punctual.
  • Customer service skills to achieve customer satisfaction by recognizing customer needs/wants.
  • Receptivity to accept constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Initiative to identify and complete tasks independently.
