Job description

Are you a dedicated Pharmacist looking to make a real impact in patient care? Join our team and take your career to the next level! As a Pharmacist at Metro, you'll provide direct patient care and support the Pharmacy Manager in managing the dispensary and front shop. Your role will be crucial in achieving our company goals, including delivering exceptional customer-focused patient care, enhancing pharmacy services, and maintaining high store standards.

What You'll Do :
  1. Perform all professional activities of dispensing, patient counseling, and pharmacy services.
  2. Fulfill dispensary orders efficiently.
  3. Operate within the expanded scope of pharmacy practice.
  4. Provide pharmacy services aligned with company initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  6. Supervise the pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and assume responsibilities during short-term absences.
  7. Ensure the pharmacy opens and closes according to hours of operation.
  8. Maintain compliance with the company recall procedures.
  9. Manage shrink through proper procedures.
  10. Assist in scheduling relief pharmacist coverage and address emergency staffing concerns.
  11. Support pharmacy paperwork and inventory management.
  12. Deliver consistent, exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues.
  13. Stay aware of local competitive activity and business development opportunities, informing head office accordingly.
  14. Maintain store standards and conditions.
  15. Operate cash registers.
Qualifications :
  1. Degree from a 4-year university pharmacy program.
  2. Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  3. Injection certified, smoking cessation certified, and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  4. Proficient with PC systems, MS Office, and pharmacy software (Kroll).
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Organizational skills for prioritizing and time management.
  8. Customer service skills to ensure satisfaction.
  9. Receptive to constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
  10. Initiative to work independently.
Key Relationships :

As a Pharmacist, you will report to the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Operations Manager. You will provide guidance to Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants, and Clerks. You will interact with internal teams such as Pharmacy Operations, Services, Merchandising, Inventory Control, and IT, as well as external vendors like McMahon and Kroll Canada.

The responsibilities and relationships may change as necessary to meet Metro’s business objectives.
