Qualifications

  • B.Sc. en pharmacie (programme universitaire de 4 ans).
  • Pharmacien inscrit auprès du Collège des pharmaciens de l'Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Effectuer toutes les activités professionnelles liées à la dispensation et au conseil aux patients.

Job description

Provide direct patient care. Assist the Pharmacy Manager in managing the dispensary and front shop. Contribute to the achievement of company goals and objectives, including patient-focused care, pharmacy services, store standards, profitability, inventory management, controllable expenses, labor, and productivity, while adhering to company operating standards and OCP standards of practice.

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Perform all professional activities related to dispensing, patient counseling, and pharmacy services.
  2. Fulfill dispensary orders efficiently.
  3. Perform acts under the expanded scope of pharmacy practice.
  4. Provide pharmacy services and support company initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals for patient care.
  6. Supervise the pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and assume responsibilities during short-term absences.
  7. Ensure the pharmacy opens and closes according to hours of operation.
  8. Ensure compliance with the company recall procedures.
  9. Maintain procedures to manage shrinkage.
  10. Assist in scheduling relief pharmacist coverage and address emergency staffing concerns.
  11. Assist with dispensary paperwork and inventory management.
  12. Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve customer complaints or issues promptly.
  13. Stay informed about local competitive activity and business development opportunities and report to head office.
  14. Maintain store standards and conditions.
  15. Operate cash registers.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: B.Sc. in Pharmacy (4-year university program).
  2. Licensure: Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  3. Additional Certifications: Injection certified, Smoking Cessation certified, registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  4. Proficiency with PC systems, MS Office, and pharmacy software (Kroll).
  5. Strong interpersonal skills for relationship building and positive work environment.
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Organizational skills for prioritizing and time management.
  8. Customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Receptivity to feedback and continuous improvement.
  10. Initiative and independence in task completion.
Relationships:

Staff Pharmacists receive direction from the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Operations Manager, and provide guidance to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacist Assistants, and Pharmacy Clerks. They interact with internal departments (Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Merchandising, Inventory Control, Audit, Store Services, McMahon, Metro, IT) and external vendors (McMahon, McKesson, Kroll Canada, VoiceTech Inc.).
