Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all pharmacy team members to dispense medications accurately, safely and timely.
  • Complete daily tasks per workplace policies and procedures.
  • Consult with pharmacy management on unresolved issues affecting daily work.
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx patients and home partners.
  • Communicate with resident care team while upholding professional standards and policies.
  • Manage medication procedure reviews with proper documentation of recommendations.
  • Follow provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
  • Adhere to corporate regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
  • Participate in training and support for new hires and existing staff.

Under the general direction of the designated Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients. Role Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, timely and completely.
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
  • Consult with members of the pharmacy management team when there are unresolved issues surrounding day to day work functions.
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx pharmacy patients and home partners.
  • Communicate with all members of the resident care team while maintaining professionalism by following corporate policies ensuring the highest standard of customer care and quality of pharmacy service.
  • Manage medication procedure/profile reviews with associated documentation of recommendations.
  • Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacy at all times.
  • Follow all corporate regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring of pharmacy inventory.
  • Participates in the training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members when required.
What You Will Bring to The Team
  • Currently licensed and in good standing with theCollege of Pharmacists of British Columbia (RPhT)
  • Proven ability to foster strong partnership with other members of the health care team.
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application preferred.
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to work independently.
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
  • Must demonstrate good listening skill and be adaptable to changes in job environment.
  • Previous Long Term pharmacy experience is an asset but not required.
  • Injections certification and APA certification preferred.

Compensation Range

$50 per hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.

Location

This role will be on site at our Burnaby Pharmacy at 8525 Commerce Crt and follows a five-day work week with required participation in the On-call Pharmacist weekend rotations. This position is a 12 month contract role.
