Role Description

This is a part-time or full-time, on-site role for a Pharmacist located in Mississauga, ON. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, consulting with patients on medication management, administering vaccinations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate patient records. Providing exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships with patients is a key aspect of this role.

We operate a customized paperless workflow using KROLL, which entails a higher level of technical demands than the average pharmacy. While training will be provided, candidates should possess above-average technical proficiency. This includes keyboard skills and expertise in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace tools, such as Gmail and Google Drive.

The pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 10AM to 3 PM. We are closed on Sundays. We are currently seeking candidates available for 25 to 35 hours per week. The current schedule includes 2 to 3 weekdays per week and 1 Saturday every 2 to 3 weeks. The schedule can be quite flexible, provided there is a commitment to Saturdays. Half-day shifts (morning or afternoon) may be available, depending on the availability of our staff pharmacists. Additional hours can be discussed further.

Qualifications

  • Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Experience in medication dispensing and patient consultation
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication therapy management
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software and technology, specifically Kroll Paperless

Compensation and Offer

The remuneration for this position ranges from $48 to $56 per hour, based on professional and technical proficiency, experience, availability, and interest in assuming additional responsibilities, including the pharmacy manager position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a retail community pharmacy in Canada, which can include time as a student, assistant, or technician.
  • Proficiency in data entry, including building and maintaining patient and doctor profiles in pharmacy software and inputting prescriptions.
  • Proficiency in understanding and interpreting prescriptions and fee-for-service billing.
  • Proficiency in KROLL Paperless.

Legal and Professional Requirements

  • Licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Part A Pharmacist.
  • Malpractice insurance.
