Job description

The Petrinex Project Director will be responsible for the following services and deliverables in relation to the Petrinex Project:

  1. Overseeing the management and successful delivery of configuration to the Petrinex Software and ongoing implementation of business requirements as part of the Project;

  2. Reporting to the Project Steering Committee on a bi-weekly basis;

  3. Managing stakeholder relationships and expectations to ensure progression of the Petrinex Project;

  4. Overseeing the development and maintenance of a risk register and the integration of risk treatments and control activities into the project plans for the Petrinex Project;

  5. Approving minor variations to the schedule or scope of the project plans for the Petrinex Project;

  6. Liaising with stakeholders (including subcontractors) in relation to the configuration of the Petrinex Software;

  7. Managing and monitoring the complex project activities through detailed plans and schedules and preparation of reports and presentation to the stakeholders, including development of a suite of project management documentation;

  8. Managing project issues and providing proposed resolution options and implementing chosen options in a timely manner;

  9. Assessing the Royalty Project progress and inspecting deliverables/milestones completion for quality assurance;

  10. Working to oversee the coordination of changes to information management systems as part of the Project.

  11. Achieving successful configuration and development of the Petrinex Software under the Royalty Project to meet the requirements;

  12. Achieving successful interface development to support the exchange of information;

  13. Achieving successful delivery of a process to convert and load converted information into Petrinex.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience with projects involving high complexity and/or sensitivity (usually large scope and evolving business environment necessitating scope adjustment);

  2. Experience with projects involving multiple stakeholders (typically involving interaction with a cross discipline team represented by several interested parties) such as: government, crown corporation, municipality or agency and the private sector;

  3. Experience with projects requiring regular interaction at the Executive level or equivalent positions;

  4. Recent experience directing multiyear, multi-million-dollar IM/IT projects;

  5. Experience with projects that may impact all of government, broader public sector, private sector and large components of citizenry;

  6. Experience with projects requiring enterprise-wide change management including: projects that involve changes to data architecture; and projects that involve changes to business architecture.

  7. Experience with strategic planning and business transformation, and ability to apply information technology to find effective solutions to business problems;

  8. Experience in and knowledge of: the Oil and Gas and/or resource sector; the BC Oil and Gas royalty regime; and revenue administration.
