Job summary

Pet Valu in Winnipeg, MB is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to coach and develop a team delivering world-class service. You will help Pet Parents find nutrition and supplies for their pets and drive community engagement at the Kenaston Crossing location.

The role requires at least 2 years in customer service and retail management, with a friendly, reliable, and weekend/evening-ready approach. Training and employee discounts are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
• Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.
• Observe and coach employees to provide feedback on sales techniques and service.
• Capacity for handling inter-team conflicts and escalation when necessary.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Customers/Community ensure that all customer service standards are met by staff; maintain courteous relationships within the community (e.g. Humane society).
• Manage a team of employees including recruiting, scheduling, training, day-to-day task assignment, supervision and coaching.
• Operational Standards/Procedures ensure staff adhere to corporate standards and procedures.
• Administrative activities coordinate order placements, maintain inventory, conduct store audits and safety audits, coordinate minor repairs, complete corporate paperwork.
• Business Results coordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted results.
• Other duties and tasks as required.
