Job summary

Dixon Hall in Mississauga is seeking a Hoarding and Pest Management Specialist to work with tenants and the Housing Team to prepare homes for pest management interventions, address hoarding, and support daily living in a housing-first framework.

The role involves hands-on assistance, case management, and education on pest control, hoarding, and safety. This position may require evening work and a Vulnerable Sector Screening in line with agency requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Community Development, Social Services, Social Work or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pest identification and preparation for extermination.
• Help tenants with organizing and packing belongings and reducing clutter.
• Support hoarding interventions and teach new habits for safer living.
• Provide guidance and encouragement for maintaining safe, healthy units.
• Educate tenants about fire codes, by-laws, and housing requirements.
• Collaborate with Housing Team and participate in meetings and ongoing professional development.
