Carecor is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our team in the Barrie Area for Long-Term Care Facilities. We are ready when you are!

Under the supervision of facility nursing staff, you will perform floor and observational care duties, contributing to an environment that promotes the physical, social, and emotional well-being of patients. Each assignment involves a full 8-12 hour shift at one facility. This is a casual position with flexible shifts.

Job Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an Ontario Community College Program, or a registered private career college in Ontario approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, with successful completion of the NACC final exam.
• OR an approved Ontario Board of Education PSW Program.
• Recent clinical or work experience as a PSW within the past two years, preferably in LTC.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds, lifting 50 pounds, working at/above shoulder height, standing and walking for long periods, and frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and crouching.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow care plans with minimal supervision.
• Proof of immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, hepatitis B.
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray within specified timeframes.
• Current BCLS-HCP and N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate (within 2 years).
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Willingness to work at multiple locations and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• PSW Certification with 6 months of Canadian work experience in relevant settings.
