Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

The opportunity

Location:
We are currently hiring for 10 part-time positions across the Toronto Outreach Attendant Services Program. Please indicate your preferred location when applying:

Toronto OAS Central Region (including McCaul, Maple House, and Cooperage SHP – Downtown Toronto)

Toronto OAS East Region (East End/Scarborough area)

Toronto OAS West Region (Etobicoke/Mississauga area)

Part-time: Up to 30 hours per week

Starting wage: $18.58 per hour

Paid travel time and mileage

Wage includes the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients

Responsibilities:
As a Support Service Attendant, you will assist individuals in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living, including:

Personal care

Lifts and transfers

Bowel and bladder routines

Meal preparation and feeding

Range of motion exercises

All tasks must be performed in a professional manner that respects the dignity, privacy, and health & safety of both consumers and staff.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required

Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or providing informal care is considered an asset

Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours

Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening

Physical Demands Self-Analysis required upon hire

March of Dimes Canada provides 24-hour attendant care to its clients. Support Services Attendants work a variety of shifts (i.e., weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.
