Job summary

S&R Nursing Homes in Canada is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide compassionate long-term care to residents in a home-like setting. You will join a supportive team that values continuous growth and in-house training.

You will assist with daily living activities, collaborate with RPNs and the care team, and participate in care conferences and shift reports.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including lifts/transfers, bathing, and feeding while promoting independence, comfort, and dignity
• Work with RPNs and care team to deliver safe, compassionate care
• Complete POC tasks, ensuring resident information is accurate and up to date
• Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and team huddles to plan and improve resident care
• Support residents with mobility, personal care, and nutrition while noting changes that matter
• Create meaningful moments by connecting with residents and celebrating milestones
• Participate in specialized programs or roles such as Behavioural Supports, Rehab or Quality Improvement
• Mentor new team members through structured programs to strengthen care culture

Education

PSW Certification / HCA Certification
