In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is seeking dedicated PSWs and Caregivers to support a young adult client at home in Mississauga. The role covers ADLs, transfers, feeding, and class support, with a focus on dignity and safety.

The ideal candidate has a PSW certificate, at least one year of caregiving, GPA/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention training, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication. Weekend/weekday daytime shifts are available; competitive pay and a supportive team await.

Qualifikationen

• PSW Certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving or PSW experience.
• Training in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) or Non-Violent Crisis Prevention.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Second language is an asset.
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
• Commitment to client safety, dignity, and respect.

Aufgaben

• Assist with full activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Perform seamless transfers and mobility support using home equipment (ceiling lift, power wheelchair, hospital bed).
• Assist with feeding and meal prep in a vegetarian household (including vegetable chopping and next-day breakfast prep).
• Support online morning college classes (computer setup and standby assistance).
• Assist with prescribed physical exercises and range-of-motion routines following family training.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe care environment.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor daily routines.

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is seeking dedicated, caring, and reliable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Caregivers to support our clients in the comfort of their homes. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality, client-centred care, we would love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated support role assisting a young adult client living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. (DMD).

What You should know:

Location: Mississauga, ON (client home) Mavis & Eglington

Shift: Weekday schedule, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 am- 2:30 pm.

What You’ll Do:

Personal Support & Daily Care

• Assist with full activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Perform seamless transfers and mobility support utilizing specialized home equipment (ceiling lift with sling, power wheelchair, and hospital bed).
• Assist with feeding and mealtime preparation in a dedicated vegetarian household (including vegetable chopping and next-day breakfast preparation under family guidance).
• Support online morning college classes (computer setup and standby assistance).
• Assist with prescribed physical exercises and range-of-motion routines following professional family training.

Home Support & Health Assistance

• Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment following family direction.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor daily routines.
• Complete daily care reports and communicate observations effectively to the Case Manager and family.

Health & Safety Assistance

• Provide medication reminders and help monitor daily routines
• Complete daily care reports and communicate observations to the Case Manager or healthcare team

Companionship & Emotional Support

• Engage clients in meaningful conversation and provide reassurance
• Promote comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being

What We’re Looking For:

• PSW Certificate required
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving or PSW experience
