Job summary

Access Healthcare Services in Renfrew, ON is seeking dedicated Personal Support Workers for full-time and part-time roles to support home and community care clients in the Ottawa Champlain region.

Earn $25.50-$27.75 CAD per hour with additional incentives including a $1.00/hour evening/weekend premium, $500 referral bonus, RRSP match, paid training, and company-sponsored health and dental benefits for you and your family. Flexible scheduling and mileage coverage available.

Qualifications

  • PSW Certificate or equivalent from a licensed Canadian institution.
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • CPR certification.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check (recent).
  • Availability for 20 hours/week and every second weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with bathing, grooming, and activities of daily living.
  • Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning.
  • Assist with exercises per therapist plan and ROM.
  • Assist with feeding and meal preparation.
  • Light housekeeping and linen care as per care plan.
  • Report health changes or safety risks to supervisor.
  • Follow nurse or supervisor delegated tasks for each client.

Personal Support Services Full Time Renfrew, ON $25.50 - $26.75 CAD per hour

Access Healthcare Services is a leading home and community healthcare provider serving the Ottawa and Champlain region. AHS provides nursing, personal and home support services on behalf of Ontario Health at Home, insurance providers, community partners and private individuals. AHS holds exemplary status with Accreditation Canada and offers a range of nursing and support services including specialty and ambulatory care clinics, in home nursing and personal support, corporate wellness services and facility staffing relief.

. is currently looking for full-time and part-time Personal Support Workers (PSW) to service our home and community care clients in the Renfrew region. Morning and evening shifts available.

Government funded incentives:
  • Up to $10,000 for recent graduates (April 1, 2023, onwards)
  • Up to $10,000 for PSW’s returning to the profession

What will you do:
  • Assist clients with bathing (partial, complete, tub, or shower)
  • Assist clients with oral hygiene, hair care, dressing, and all activities of daily living
  • Assist clients with ambulation, transferring, and positioning in bed or chair
  • Assist with physio exercises, ROM, etc. as per therapist’s care plan
  • Assist clients with feeding and light meal preparation
  • Perform light housekeeping duties as per service plan
  • Make/change clients bedding as required
  • Assist clients with toileting or incontinence care
  • Assist and/or remind client to take medication (Do not administer medication)
  • Report any changes in health condition, or safety risks to immediate supervisor
  • Perform delegated tasks, specific to each client; delegated by nurse or immediate supervisor
What will you need:
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate (or equivalent) from a licensed Canadian educational institution, DSW Certificate or a successful first year nursing completion
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
  • Vehicle required with valid driver’s license
  • Car insurance with a liability of $2 million
  • Valid CPR
  • Step 2 TB Test (Completed within the last 2 years)
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check (less than 3 months old)
  • Must be available to work every second weekend
  • Must be available for 20 hours per week minimum

Incentives:
