Job summary

Garden River First Nation is seeking Personal Support Workers to assist seniors and others in the community who require support with daily living activities. The role is part-time and casual, with shifts at 7 Shinkgwauk Street, Garden River First Nation, ON.

Starting wage is $23.23 per hour, pending education and experience. CPIC clearance, CPR and First Aid certificates are required, along with a valid PSW credential.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate from accredited institution.
• CPIC clearance required as a condition of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certificates current.
• Access to reliable vehicle with mileage reimbursed.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist seniors, frail, disabled or cognitively impaired clients with physical, mental and emotional well-being.
• Provide support to remain living at home in a safe and healthy manner per Care Plan.
• Follow Care Plan adherence and report any changes to supervisor.

Garden River First Nation, also known as Ketegaunseebee is located near Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The community is part of the Ojibway band and is recognized for its cultural heritage. What you can bring to the role:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate from accredited institution
• Knowledge, understanding and experience of First Nation culture, values, and traditions
• Clear CPIC required as a condition of employment
• Able to perform physical tasks and duties, including frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Access to reliable vehicle to travel to client homes (milage reimbursed)
