• Wage Range: $31.00-$31.89 (non-negotiable start rate)
• Shifts: Days, Evenings, Every Other Weekend, Stat Holidays

Position Summary

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is part of the inter-professional care team, maintaining collaborative relationships to provide patient care.

Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Perform delegated tasks as assigned by RNs or RPNs, in compliance with RHPA, with appropriate training.
• Communicate and demonstrate basic information according to the patient’s Plan of Care.
• Ensure a safe environment by reporting unsafe conditions and patient changes.
• Document patient records and progress notes as per hospital policy.

Qualifications

• Current registration with HSCPOA
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate
• Behavioral management training (e.g., PIECES, U-First, CPI) is an asset
• Ability to handle physical exertion, including standing, walking, reaching
• Experience in acute care or rehab is an asset
• Good attendance record required
