Job summary

SE Health is hiring part-time PSWs for evening community care shifts in Peterborough and surrounding areas, with mileage and travel time covered. You will provide personal care and support to clients, maintain safety, and collaborate with a compassionate team in a not-for-profit, all-in together environment.

Requirements include a valid PSW certificate or RN/RPN, immunization and background checks, and the ability to lift up to 55 pounds for mobility support.

Qualifications

• Valid PSW certificate or RN/RPN credential
• Nursing student with clinical placements completed
• Developmental Support Worker Diploma or equivalent
• Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse acceptable

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in community settings
• Support clients to maintain independence and safety
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as needed

Education

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• RN or RPN
• Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Diploma
• Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required
• Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB and Tetanus
• Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
• Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid
• Availability to workevenings and every other weekend
• This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement
