Resident Care is responsible for the planning, coordinated development, management and implementation of long term care home nursing and personal care activities, programs, services and initiatives to the residents of a municipal long term care facility.
You are responsible for supporting total resident care, according to a Resident Care Plan, ensuring residents' optimal functioning and well-being in a supportive, therapeutic environment, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement.
Completion of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate program* which meets the standards established in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act.
Clinical Practicum hours within the Personal Support Worker program consist of a minimum of one hundred and forty (140) hours, as practical experience, preferably with clinic experience in a geriatric or long term care setting.
Combined class and practical experience must be 600 hours in duration.
