Location: Fallingbrook, Ottawa, Ontario

Job Overview

Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice. Assist registered staff with diagnostic and therapeutic measures, complete documentation accurately and timely, and ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist residents with daily activities and support meal services.
  2. Support restorative nursing practices.
  3. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  4. Ensure care is executed in accordance with legislation, best practices, and policies.
  5. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs.
  6. Document all care accurately for compliance and internal standards.
  7. Mentor new staff and students, promoting educational opportunities.
  8. Attend departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
  9. Foster teamwork and adherence to safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written); second language skills are an asset.
  • Completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) or be a student in relevant health programs.
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray, current CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements and criminal record check within the past year.
