RNS Health Care Services Inc. is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our home care team in Markham, Ontario. This role offers mornings, days, or evenings with weekend coverage and a warm, supportive team environment.

You will provide high-quality in-home care, assist with daily activities, and help clients maintain independence. Training, mentorship, and certification support are provided by the employer.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients and families.
• Ability to work in home care settings with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality care and client well-being.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Prior home care experience is preferred but not required.

• Assist clients with personal care needs (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).

What You’ll Do

As a Personal Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clients with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Supporting clients with mobility and transfers while ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Performing light housekeeping tasks, including tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
• Engaging clients in meaningful activities and providing companionship.
• Observing and reporting changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided and completing required reports.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Certifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a program approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or the Ministry of Education.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past six months.
• Proof of a negative two-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) completed within the past two years.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.

Skills & Availability

• Availability to work morning, day, or evening shifts, including alternating weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and conversing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to support individuals with diverse needs.
• Ability to work independently and provide quality care in clients’ homes and other care settings.
• Previous experience in home care or a similar environment is preferred.
