Job summary

RNS Health Care Services Inc. is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our home healthcare team in Kleinburg, ON. This full-time position offers days or evenings with weekend availability required.

As a PSW, you will support clients in their homes and other care settings, delivering quality care and companionship while following established care plans and reporting changes to the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate from an approved program.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past six months.
• Proof of a negative two-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) within past two years.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care needs (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).
• Support mobility and transfers while ensuring safety.
• Perform light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, housekeeping).
• Engage clients with meaningful activities and provide companionship.
• Observe and report changes to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate care documentation and required reports.

What You’ll Do

As a Personal Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clients with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Supporting clients with mobility and transfers while ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Performing light housekeeping tasks, including tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
• Engaging clients in meaningful activities and providing companionship.
• Observing and reporting changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided and completing required reports.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Certifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a program approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or the Ministry of Education.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past six months.
• Proof of a negative two-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) completed within the past two years.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.

Skills & Availability

• Availability to work morning, day, or evening shifts, including alternating weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and conversing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to support individuals with diverse needs.
• Ability to work independently and provide quality care in clients’ homes and other care settings.
• Previous experience in home care or a similar environment is preferred.
