Job summary

Chubb Insurance Company of Canada in Toronto is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter responsible for reviewing and accepting risks to maximize profitability of an assigned book. You will be the main contact for risk placement and pricing, working with brokers to secure favorable terms.

The role requires 3+ years in personal lines underwriting, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to analyze risks and apply underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 3+ years of underwriting experience in Personal Lines.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An analytical mindset and project management skills.
• Strong history of results and customer service orientation.
• Solid interpersonal skills to build healthy and long-term relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Meet growth and retention goals for assigned portfolio.
• Fulfilling GWP and New Business goals by writing and renewing profitable target market business.
• Preparing new and renewal proposals that assist producers with account retention and growth.
• Executing strategic initiatives and operating tactics.
• Employing account rounding and cross sell strategies.
• Adhering to Catastrophe Management strategies.
• Analyze customer information and account details in underwriting, pricing, proposal and placement of new accounts and renewal business, ensuring profitability.
• Apply sound underwriting judgment and adhere to delegated underwriting authority.
• Review and act on findings from risk assessment reports.
• Understand Chubb's products and recommend additional coverage and services during new, endorsement and renewal processes.
• Promote Chubb Personal Risk Services value proposition to clients and brokers.
