Job summary

ComForCare Canada is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to provide clients with personal care and homemaker/companion services per an established plan of care, so they can remain in their residence. The role covers personal care, companionship, homemaking, and basic medication assistance, with a flexible schedule and supportive team.

Requirements include a high school diploma, English proficiency, a valid driver's license, and passing PCA and DEARS tests; compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per

Qualifications

• Meets passing criteria on PCA skills test.
• Meets passing criteria on DEARS test (Drugs and Ethics).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Provide companionship and homemaker services to clients in their residence.
• Assist with medications that the client self-administers.

Job Summary

The Personal Care Assistant provides clients various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.

Essential Functions

• Personal Care
  • Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, lifts), change of position, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
• Companion/Sitter
  • Provide companionship and respite services for family
  • Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms
• Medication Services
  • Assist with medications that the client self-administers

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent certificate
• Meets passing criteria on PCA skills test.
• Meets passing criteria on DEARS test (Drugs and Ethics test)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job
