The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) is seeking a Permanent Student Supervisor to support students at New Sarum PS in London, Ontario. The role covers supervision on school grounds during nutritional breaks and throughout the day, including environments with students who may have health/medical or behavioral needs.

The principal will determine the duty period. Hours are flexible (minimum 3.33, maximum 6.66 per week) with a rate of pay of CAD 25.75 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Previous related work experience is required or preferred.
  • French language is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of students.
  • Communicate with a diverse range of staff, students and guardians.
  • Supervise the disposal of lunch refuse in suitable containers and the general cleaning of the lunchroom areas.
  • Dealing with discipline problems in a manner prescribed by the principal and reporting significant disciplinary actions to the principal or designate.
  • Carrying out such supervision duties as the principal may assign.

PERMANENT STUDENT SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY The Student Supervision Support person provides supports to students who remain on the school grounds (indoor and outdoor locations) during nutritional breaks and throughout the day on a daily or supply basis. Please note that you may be working in an environment where assistance may be need with students that may have significant health/medical or behavioral needs . The principal shall determine the time period during which the Student Supervision Support staff will be employed. The successful candidate must be able to understand and respond to needs of diverse school communities.

RATE OF PAY: $25.75

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous related work experience and French language is an asset.

The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons. In accordance with regulations, this will be an ongoing expectation of employment for TVDSB employees every five years of employment.
