Job summary

North East School Division invites applications for the position of Permanent School Bus Driver in Melfort Route #1 with duties to commence as soon as mutually agreed upon. You will be part of a transportation team delivering safe, reliable school travel for local students.

Qualifications

• Be medically and physically able to perform the duties of a bus driver.
• Minimum valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's license (not learner/ graduated).
• Possess or obtain S Endorsement for school bus.
• Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
• Reliable transportation and ability to use email/internet and GPS.

• Ensure student safety and supervise boarding and alighting.
• Adhere to route schedules and district policies.

The North East School Division is looking for friendly, responsible, and energetic individuals to add to our transportation team. School bus drivers are an important part of a student's day. They are there to greet, guide, and ensure your community's children stay safe as they travel to and from school.
Route details:

• Location: Melfort
• Estimated daily km: 125.66/day (subject to change)
• Starts: As soon as mutual agreed

As a Route school bus driver, you:

• Provide transportation for students to and from school
• Are eligible for medical and pension benefits
• Earn income and have weekends, evenings and holidays free to pursue other interests
• Support your local community by providing a service for children and parents

Requirements:

• Be medically and physically able to perform the duties of a bus driver
• Minimum valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's license (not learner's or graduated license)
• Currently possess or able to obtain a driver's license "S" Endorsement for school bus
• Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
• Acceptable driver's abstract
• Capable of using technology for e-mail, internet access, typical office software, and GPS
• Must have reliable transportation
• Be willing to join CUPE Union Local 4875

Training:
Paid training, including mileage, is provided for successful candidates.
Successful candidates will be reimbursed for the costs of; Commercial Medical, SGI Driver's Abstract, CRC and Vulnerable Sector Check, and S-endorsement testing.
