Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Alberta is seeking an Inventory Planner who will execute fulfillment plans, manage stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain in-stock performance across our distribution network.

You will use forecasting and replenishment systems to optimize perishable inventory, reduce spoilage, support seasonal buys, and drive continuous improvement in service levels, inventory turns, and product loss, while partnering with Merchandising, Traffic, and Receiving teams.

Qualifications

• Strong inventory management knowledge and analytical skills.
• Experience with forecasting/replenishment systems or ERP is preferred.
• Ability to manage perishable inventory and optimize stock levels.

Responsibilities

• Executes inventory management for conversions, seasonal buys, long and obsolete stock.
• Collaborates with suppliers to resolve issues; expediting as needed.
• Maintains market awareness to manage perishable inventory and minimize spoilage.
• Uses fulfillment software to set up perishable items and maximize service levels.
• Develops seasonal plans using fulfillment tools.
• Works with suppliers, Traffic, and Receiving to ensure inventory flow into distribution centers.
• Releases Purchase Orders and replenishes inventory.
• Implements business rules for service levels, safety stock, and inbound freight networks.
• Performs vendor analysis to improve service levels and reduce spoilage.
• Coordinates with Merchandising and National Multi-Unit Team for product changes.
• Aligns with procurement philosophies and divisional objectives.
• Continuously improves professional skills with ERP, Office, and Google apps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
