Job summary

Kindred Connections Society is seeking a Perinatal Health & Wellness Worker to support pregnant people and new parents through education, resource navigation, and family wellness in a hybrid role (0.8 FTE). You will promote healthy pregnancies, breastfeeding, and early development while addressing barriers such as poverty and language.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
• Three years’ experience with pregnant and parenting families.
• Knowledge of prenatal and postpartum health, breastfeeding, and infant development.
• Experience addressing barriers such as poverty and trauma.
• Familiarity with Calgary’s public health and early years systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on prenatal health, postpartum wellness, infant care, and nutrition.
• Navigate health services and support access to public health resources.
• Reduce barriers through trauma-informed, culturally relevant support.
• Maintain client records and data in the database.
• Collaborate with partners and participate in team meetings.
• Respond to risk and safety concerns with appropriate action.
• Represent Kindred positively at community events.
