Job summary

Providence Health Care is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the St. Paul’s Hospital Pregnancy, Birthing and Newborn Centre. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will assess, plan and implement nursing care to support families through pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, provide patient education, and adjust plans based on clinical judgment, ensuring culturally safe, trauma-informed care within a dynamic transition environment.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health, current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Two years' recent maternity setting experience with labour and birth component or Perinatal Nursing Specialty certificate.
• Current neonatal resuscitation certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to meet patients' physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs.
• Develop, implement and revise the plan of care.
• Lead patient/family group sessions and provide education as part of care.
