Job summary

PepsiCo Beverages Winnipeg is seeking a Maintenance Millwright to maintain and repair plant equipment within the Winnipeg facility. You will ensure reliability, troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support production with changes, installations, and repairs on advanced equipment.

The role requires Red Seal Millwright certification with journeyperson status; fourth-class power engineer preferred.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Millwright certification is required.
  • Industrial Millwright Journeyperson ticket with Red Seal endorsement.
  • Relevant power engineering certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical malfunctions.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades and changeovers.
  • Work with welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, ammonia refrigeration, plastics, material handling, and PLC equipment.
  • Interact with CMMS and parts inventory systems.
  • Inspect equipment for proper operation according to specs.
  • Guide less experienced maintenance team members as needed.
  • Complete work safely following company policies.

Job Locations: CA-MB-Winnipeg

The Maintenance Millwright will contribute to the success of PepsiCo by maintaining and repairing plant equipment and mechanical systems within the Winnipeg manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting production through repairs, changeovers, and installations on advanced manufacturing equipment.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the maintenance team to support day-to-day operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Compensation:Class 11 Licensed Journeyperson as per union classification ($38.37 - $46.26 per hour)Shift:All Shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights) assigned according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Location:Winnipeg, MB

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment malfunctions.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and changeovers.
  • Perform duties involving welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, ammonia refrigeration, plastics manufacturing, material handling, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Interact with computerized maintenance management systems and parts inventory programs.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced maintenance team members as required.
  • Complete all work safely and productively while following company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification.
  • Valid Industrial Millwright Journeyperson Ticket with Red Seal endorsement.
  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate or higher preferred.
  • Knowledge of machine control systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Skilled in the use of machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and related tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work shifts and overtime as required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50-85 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Complete all required Safety, Quality/Food Safety, and operational training.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working in a manufacturing environment.
