Job summary

Distress Centre Calgary is seeking a Payroll & People Operations Specialist to manage payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and HR policy implementation. The role reports to the Director, People and Culture and supports Alberta employment standards compliance.

This full-time, on-site position offers salary in the mid-range and a comprehensive benefits package, including RRSP matching, health spending account, extended health and dental, and on-site gym access.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal payroll administration and coordinate with external payroll provider to ensure accurate processing.
• Prepare payroll information and changes by deadlines; maintain records of payroll changes and employee data.
• Support year-end payroll activities and assist with payroll-related questions.
• Oversee benefits administration and onboarding/offboarding activities.
• Maintain HRIS records and ensure compliance with Alberta employment standards.
