Red Deer Polytechnic is hiring for a newly evolved role: People Workforce Intelligence and Systems Analyst. This position is a significant part of our People & Culture (P&C) transformation, aimed at enhancing data-informed decision-making and supporting our 2030 Strategic Plan: Productivity and Social Impact.

The People Workforce Intelligence and Systems Analyst manages and optimizes People & Culture data systems, focusing on workforce planning, talent management, and process improvement. You will analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights that support informed business decisions and drive institutional outcomes. This role is ideal for someone transitioning from a traditional technical role into a position at the intersection of HR, analytics, and organizational development.

Responsibilities
  1. Systems and Technology Management:
  • Configure, manage, and optimize People and Culture (HR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy, payroll, and benefit laws and best practices.
  • Implement new technologies to improve efficiency and data quality, collaborating with IT Services for system integration and data security.
  • Manage system access, troubleshoot issues, and serve as the content editor of our intranet.
  • Data Analysis and Process Improvement:
    • Analyze P&C data to identify trends, improve talent management, and support labor relations.
    • Design self-serve dashboards, automate reporting processes, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
    • Streamline processes and use analytics to forecast workforce needs and risks.
  • Project Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead system implementation and upgrade projects, minimizing disruptions and providing user training.
    • Collaborate with teams across campus to address operational challenges and deliver data-driven recommendations.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Science, or related field (or combination of education and experience).
    • At least 3 years of experience with HRIS, including payroll, benefits, and administration.
    • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within HR or talent management.
    Skills and Attributes
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Cognos, Power BI), Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and SharePoint.
    • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and HRIS systems.
    • Experience designing self-serve reporting tools and dashboards.
    • Excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
    • High professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to RDP’s mission and values.
    • Ability to manage change, navigate ambiguity, and drive innovation.
