Job summary

HOOPP is seeking an Associate Director, Pension Benefits & Policy to provide legal advice on defined benefit pension plan administration and related regulatory matters. You will assist in evolving plan design, administration and compliance, while producing high-quality research and policy materials for senior leadership and the Board.

The role requires a law degree with Ontario bar, 7+ years of legal experience and 5+ years in pension matters; estates or litigation experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Law degree required and Ontario Bar in good standing, with 7+ years of legal experience.
• Minimum 5 years of direct pension subject-matter expertise; estate or litigation is a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of pension legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent research, analytical and written/spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on pension plan administration and related matters.
• Support evolution of Plan design, administration, compliance and policies.
• Produce high-quality research and materials for Senior Management and the Board.
• Mentor and develop Pension Services staff and collaborate across HOOPP divisions.
