Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Pension Delivery Consultant, you will guide individuals through the transition from employment to active retirement and manage any changes during the retirement lifecycle. Promote a participatory work environment that encourages team spirit and professional self-development. Provide a high level of customer service to pensioners.

*Please note this is a 6-month contract opportunity.

What will you do?

  1. Continuously evaluate processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on improving the employee and retiree experience.
  2. Responsible for the timely investigation and resolution of Tier 3 escalations from HRSS Contact Centre and HR Employee Relations.
  3. Evaluate and advise on the impact of new legislation, HR initiatives, or issues at the request of HR Employee Relations, HRBPs, etc.
  4. Report and investigate issues; develop plans to address root causes.
  5. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee lifecycle and pension changes for RBC Employees in Canada and internationally.
  6. Maintain high accountability and decision-making authority related to RBC Pension governance, administration, processes, and tax requirements.
  7. Oversee the administration of the Pension Program, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  8. Provide leadership and oversight for project delivery, including testing phases, whether recurring, standalone, or M&A related.
  9. Implement and maintain controls and reports to ensure proper audit procedures.
  10. Establish and follow escalation processes for non-standard inquiries, ensuring quick, fair, and courteous resolutions.
  11. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Pension Service effectiveness, including administration and member communication.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Good understanding of Pension Standards Act, ITA, and provincial pension legislation.
  • Knowledge of RBC Pension Program is an asset.
  • Well organized with effective prioritization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with computer proficiency.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to complete tasks with minimal instruction.
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word).

Nice to Have

  • French language skills.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Benplus knowledge.
  • Business knowledge and functional expertise.
  • RPA Certification.
  • PCP Certification (Payroll Compliance Professional).
