Company Description

Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking a full‑time pediatrician to join an existing service with two other pediatricians and a fully equipped office that is practice ready. The successful physician will provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient practice settings with possible satellite clinics in Shelburne and Digby. There is also an opportunity to work as a preceptor with medical students and residents in addition to offering expertise on pediatric care to various committees. YRH has an affiliation with IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax which provides travelling sub‑specialty clinics, telehealth grand rounds, and an air transport program.

YRH was founded in 1912 and serves the 60,000 people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby counties. Located in Yarmouth, YRH has 124 inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in‑patient, outpatient and satellite programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide full‑scope practice pediatric care to patients within Western Zone
• Participate in call shifts
• Support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of pediatric care by liaising with applicable staff within the zone and province
• Offer consultation support to Western Zone, including day‑time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
• Be accountable to the patient population in Western Zone by providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics
• Report to the Zone Pediatrics Department Head for professional responsibilities and quality of practice
• Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health

Remuneration

• Alternate Payment Plan - $343,521 annually with anticipated contractual increases according to the negotiated Physician Agreement plan
