Job Description

Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow is seeking a locum pediatrician to join their team.

Aberdeen is approximately 1.5 hours from the region's tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support.

Responsibilities

Duties include full scope of practice as a pediatrician providing care to patients within the Northern zone and participating in call.

The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Women and Children's Services for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Expected Hours

• Full-time
• on call (1:3)

Our department is full-service Pediatrics, and does require neonatal resuscitation and stabilization for transport, which at times can happen quickly and other times could be up to 24 hours. It also covers consults in the ER including attending trauma with pediatric patients.

Renumeration

Paid via the Alternative Payment Plan, Call stipend paid separately.

Locum physicians are required to be licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and privileged by Nova Scotia Health Authority.
