Job summary
ErinoakKids is currently seeking energetic Registered Practical Nurse’s to support children and young adults with medical and/or behavioural complexity within our Respite Program. Successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work towards supporting clients as they participate in daily living activities.
Casual on-site positions at the Brampton site require weekend availability and flexible hours.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Practical Nursing required.
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Pediatric nursing experience.
- Experience with children with physical and developmental disabilities.
- Experience with children and youth with challenging behaviors.
- Current CPR and First Aid; CPI certificate preferred.
- Excellent nursing assessment and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Bilingual French and English is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Review and implement individual client care plans.
- Communicate client care plans with respite staff.
- Review and record all medical documentation.
- Conduct assessments and respond to client needs.
- Provide direct clinical care.
- Provide onsite guidance and training to respite staff.
- Operate transfer and mobility equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures including infection control.
