Job summary

Kayla’s Children Centre in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support school, clinic, and camp programs. This full-time role offers a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment working with diverse children and families.

As an OTA, you will assist with individual and group therapy under a Registered OT, support programming in classrooms and hydrotherapy pools, maintain documentation and equipment, and help ensure high standards of sanitation and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a certified OTA program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with children with special needs.
• Knowledge of developmental disorders in children.
• Familiarity with developmental and therapeutic intervention approaches.
• Experience in an interdisciplinary, family-centred environment.
• Experience in school or pediatric therapy setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and implement OT activities under supervision of a Registered OT.
• Assist with individual treatment sessions and therapeutic groups.
• Support OT programming in classroom and school environments.
• Assist with hydrotherapy pool activities as required.
• Carry out and reinforce OT treatment plans across settings.
• Maintain accurate client documentation and records.
• Maintain OT equipment and treatment areas.
• Ensure sanitization and cleaning per department policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support outcomes for children and families.
