Job summary

The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students from pre-school to Grade 12. You will assess, plan, and implement OT services in school settings, focusing on self-care, motor, sensory, executive functioning, and mental health needs.

Collaboration with staff, families, and external partners is essential for student success. You will supervise therapeutic assistants, develop intervention plans, and advocate for inclusive, trauma-aware

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in occupational therapy and current provincial registration.
• At least 3 years’ pediatric experience preferred.
• Experience with adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Ability to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines.
• Knowledge of privacy laws and records management.
• Leadership to guide staff and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ strengths and needs across self-care, motor, sensory and mental health domains.
• Develop and submit assessment reports and support documentation for funding.
• Supervise therapeutic assistants in school settings.
• Create intervention plans to maximize access, participation and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external partners to tailor plans.
